PhD Summer School Athens 2017

2018, issue 41, Airi-Alina Allaste: ESA now has a long tradition of PhD summer schools, which are organised annually and have always been popular among PhD students. The 2017 summer school was held in Athens immediately before the ESA conference. A total of 106 PhD students applied to attend and 25 were selected through a review process undertaken by the ESA Executive PhD committee.

13th ESA Conference Report Athens 2017 – LOC

2018, issue 41, Apostolos G. Papadopoulos: The Hellenic Sociological Association (HSS) in collaboration with PCO CONVIN submitted a bid to the ESA to organise the 13th ESA Conference in Athens in autumn 2014 and presented their bid to the ESA Executive Committee members in Prague in May 2015. The final decision of the ESA was announced to the HSS by the end of August 2015, at a time when Greece faced a critical turn in its economic crisis saga during which the country faced the challenge of exiting the European Union.

13th ESA Conference Report Athens 2017 – ESA

2018, issue 41, Christian Fuchs and Frank Welz: The 13th Conference of the European Sociological Association took place from August 29 until September 1st, 2017, in Athens, Greece. The conference theme was “(Un)Making Europe: Capitalism, Solidarities, Subjectivities”. With 3.581 participants, it was the largest event in the 25-year long history of the organisation.

Initially she was confined in a shared office where the attached meeting-rooms, as I well remember, had no windows.
